Golden Drops Cafe

It was one of those Georgia days where the air feels like bland soup and your upper lip sweats before you finish locking your car, but we braced the heat for a walk at Mason Mill Park. Coffee was definitely calling us post stroll, so we headed to Golden Drops Café just a couple minutes down the road, fully expecting to sweat it out on their large patio with Ragnar. But plot twist, they let him inside. Ragnar was able to enjoy the AC like the regal boy he is. The space was cozy but airy, and the energy was somewhere between “get your work done” and “stay a little longer.”

The Drinks
Golden Latte: Their signature drink, and it delivered. Warm, lightly spiced, and beautifully balanced. The ginger and cinnamon were subtle, not overpowering, and the espresso still came through beautifully. Honestly, it might’ve cured something inside me.
Cortado: Strong, smooth, no frills. A solid cortado with just enough punch to make you sit up straighter but not enough to give you anxiety.

The Food
Okay but listen… the empanadas. We weren’t expecting to order food. We were just there for caffeine and change of scenery, but what an unexpected glorious combo. Flaky and flavorful, the ideal coffee companion. You know how sometimes coffee shop food is just there so your stomach doesn’t cry? Not these. These were the main event.
